Two here to make your mouth water. Both in excellent condition. The Yorkshire with the tartan coat has a ticket price of £1300 and is a very rare jug indeed. He has the usual caryatid handle. The other chap is magnificently modelled, even down to his finger nails. He is of an unusual colour and maybe a Neale, although he could be earlier. He is in perfect condition. His ticket price is £850. THE JUG ON THE LEFT IS NOW SOLD.

This French Faience Jug is a brilliant example. He dates from about 1865 - 1875 and has all the features one would expect from a quality Faience jug, including all the necessary marks on the base (although not illustrated here). He is holding an empty blue jug and glass and sits comfortably on his chair. His condition is near perfect and his white tin glaze is superb. His ticket price is £575.00. He is full size and like most Faience Tobys is heavier than his english counterpart.

This poor fellow has lost one hand and his handle. He was a very fine jug in 1875, well modelled and good colours. He stands about 9 ins. high, although not expensive at £70 he would be well worth having repaired for about another £50 or so, he would then be a very worthwhile addition to any collection. I have many other snuff takers for sale, all at reasonable prices. He is one of the rarer Snuff takers and the cross type decoration is rarely seen. SOLD

You either like this one or not. Dated about 1870 it has been described as naughty. This specimen has lost some of its colour and has a small original firing flaw on its base. Its ticket price is £130 reflecting that there are better specimens around. But at that price it makes a very interesting talking point, I wonder who originally bought it in 1870 and for what reason.

This attractive 1870-75 Staffordshire Teapot/Toby has a ticket price of only £130. It is complete with lid, very colourful and has only one small barely visible crack at the base of the spout. These jugs are becoming quite difficult to locate as teapot collectors as well as Toby collectors are seeking them. SOLD

A double base Toby. Note empty jug, clean, clear running glazes. This jug dated about 1795, is modelled after the Ralph Wood style, he is lightly potted, with unpainted facial features and he has hollow legs. Double base jugs are becoming increasingly difficult to find, expect to pay in excess of £1400 for these jugs.

The Thin Man. He dates from about 1770, the forerunner to the Ordinary Toby. Expect to pay around £2500+ for one in average condition. A Thin Man sold at Bonhams in 2003 for £2800 hammer price without a jug or pipe. These jugs are extremely rare. They are also seen enamelled, which proves enamelling was around much earlier than is generally thought.
