A new one to stock this week. One of the best I have seen for a while. Note excellent face and pox spots. He dates from about 1830-35 and has the quite unusual lilac coat and green trousers. His jug is full and shows a fine froth. His hat is in perfect condition. He has two small breaks in the rear on the handle, which have been repaired but can still be seen. However the handle is complete and fortunately being at the back does no detract from this jug when on display. It would be very easy for an invisible repair to be undertaken cheaply. This jug would normally command a ticket price of about £650 but because of this minor damage I am selling for £475 including postage and packing. He really is a magnificent Toby and there are not many around these days.

An excellent running glaze Ordinary dated about 1800. He is wearing a magnificent green coat and brown jug overflowing with froth. Pipe in hand and unpainted face are characteristics of these early jugs. His condition is near perfect and with a ticket price of only £1300 he represents good value at todays rapidly rising prices. Just e mail me and I will be pleased to discuss him and any other jugs with you. THIS JUG EXHIBITS A VERY RARE COLOURED COAT. NOTE UNPAINTED FACE, CHARACTERISTIC OF AN EARLY JUG. AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A RALPH WOOD TYPE RUNNING GLAZE TOBY in excellent condition.

A fine example of a Pearlware Toby, from about 1810. This fellow has an attractive painted face and wears a pale blue coat, with yellow trousers. His ticket price is £580 including postage and packing in the UK.

This Sunderland Pink Lustre jug is one of the finest examples I have seen. He is in excellent condition and has not been rubbed like so many lustre jugs that appear on the market. He is well moulded and is holding a fine overflowing jug of ale. He has the typical Yorkshire type caryatid handle and his orange trousers contrast well with his fine pink lustre coat. His ticket price is £795 which includes postage and packing. These Sunderland jugs date from around 1830 and are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

This Prattware illustrated here can be seen on Page 50 in my book. He dates from around 1810 and will sell for no less than £600. On the next page, 51, is an almost identical jug, the only difference being some very minor differences to the hand painted jug and coat. It is quite obvious that these two jugs came from the same pottery and possibly were produced on the same day. Where have they been since 1810, what an accident of fate that they should both end up in my collection, bought from totally different sources at different times. How nice if they could stay together.
